A Town Called Hope
by Bernard Howe

In a time from the old west,
stood the little town of Hope.
It was high up on the mountain,
on the north side of the slope.

Miners used to gather,
in the hotel bar at night.
Sometimes they got angry,
sometimes they would fight.

They came from many places,
with their hopes for gettin' rich.
But the mountain dried up quickly
now there's just a ditch.

To far away from the city,
and a hard ride up the hill.
Helped doom the town of Hope,
as no more dreams could it fulfill.

It now lies lost and broken
as the buildings fade away.
This town they once called Hope
is now left here in decay.
