Ships Of White
by Joseph A. Decker, Jr.

These ships of white,
sailing past the wings of the metal bird.

Always away, in formations to unknown points.
Casting shadows upon the face of the earth,
in one dimension . . . absurd!

Small ones, large ones, all moving away from me.
Some flat, some puffy, some long ones, and some
as sheets . . . migrating.

What are these ships of white and,
where are they going?
