Sea and Space

Adrift
by Bernard Howe

I cast my skip onto the lake,
lay back quietly so not to shake.
Time goes by so very swift,
I loose my self while adrift.

Memories come and pass so quick,
stand a candle and light the wick.
Watch the stars up in the skies,
making objects and improvise.

Relaxing, resting while adrift,
making sure my weight don't shift.
Noises from the night so dark,
stir my thoughts while I embark.

Moon so bright upon the lake,
shimmering in my drifting wake.
Fire flies all blinking bright,
make this one beautiful night.

Stress released from my mind,
I recommend this to all mankind.
Like a present, a joyful gift,
peaceful indulgence while adrift.
