How Quickly Some Do Forget
by Andrea M. Paterson

How quickly some do forget…
The horror of that day. The reason America rose up!
And sent our soldiers in harms way.

Weapons of mass destruction, not the only cause for this war.
He vowed to root out terrorism, in any country, on any shore.

Not a normal war we were told, but a long and frustrating fight.
We’d have to stand together, this would not be won in a few short nights.

How quickly some do forget…
The horror of that day. The reason America rose up!
Demanding justice for all those slain.

In the months that have passed, many have sacrificed it all.
Bravely putting on the uniform, they answered their countries call.

Willing to die so that others could live free to pursue their dreams!
Fighting on foreign soil to keep America safe and free.

How quickly some do forget…
The horror of that day. The reason America rose up!
We cried, “we’ll make those bastards pay!”

He promised to hunt down and punish all those responsible for the cowardly acts.
A task which he is carrying out, isn’t that exactly what we asked!

Still those who live in glass houses, continue to throw their stones.
Getting richer by the hour, living safe in their lavish homes.

How quickly some do forget…
The horror of that day. The day America rose up!
God help us election day!

We don’t need the likes of Kerry running our great land.
He returned from war and then spat in the face of every solider that fought in Vietnam!

Thirty plus years have passed, many still missing, their whereabouts unknown!
What ,I ask, has Kerry done to help bring his brothers home!

How quickly some do forget
The horror of that day. The day America rose up!
WHY we sent our soldiers in harms way.

Stand proud behind our soldiers and sailors, our airmen and marines!
Let them know your proud to live in an America THEY keep free!

Fly our great flag proudly for everyone to see!
Remember now and always, freedom is NOT free!
