Throw Them A Line
by Don Lewis

Throw them a line
Please lift them, brother far from their fear
Can you pull them up and get them out of there
This tragedy is more than they can stand
Please brother, stop and reach out your hand
Throw them a line

Throw them a line
They’ve waded streets for days from dawn to dawn
A place as this, is not where they belong
Most of their last hopes for help are gone
I can’t relate but I know that this is wrong
Throw them a line

Throw them a line
They once had a place they could call their own
Now they feel that there’s nowhere for them to turn
For some it’s been 5 days since their last meal
As I see this on T.V., man it don’t seem real
Throw them a line

Throw them a line
Crime and Chaos is spreading everywhere
And it seems as if our leaders just don't care
With the fear of hopelessness, there in their eyes
It’s clear politicians have failed to hear their cries
Throw them a line

Throw them a line
Mister president don’t you hear their plea
The handling of this really upsets me
They’re dying as they have nowhere to go
No other rescue mission's ever been so slow
Throw them a line
