What Waits For Us Now?
by Paula Bottoms

Where do we go now, when we just want to be safe and secure?
Mom and Dad are gone and we are alone and unsure.
Why did they go so soon? Why were they called away?
Were they needed so badly that they couldn't stay and play?

What waits for us now, I still hope to wake up and see them there
waving and smiling, welcoming and well aware.
Do they know they left me all alone with no mom or dad?
Do they care? Do they still love me? Are they sad?

We will carry on as we have no choice ... that's life.
They raised us to be strong and to be compassionate
We will make them proud and support each other in strife
What waits for us now? Where do we stand?

We are going to go on no matter what and keep their memories alive
with stories good and bad, happy or sad. They lived for us and now
we have to make them stand up and cheer.
Hey that's our family, living it up and laughing down there!
