Mourning / Grief

My Friend, The Advocate
by Denny Lancaster

I have friend who is not the same,
for poetry to him is such a bane,
so we send some to muddle his day,
pushing buttons, what more to say,
but one day a poetic thought would remain.

The thought which we sought to convey,
was about how an advocate would pay,
for all the prayers which were always heard,
as promised in God's holy book and word,
and what in heaven of him would they say.

We think that debts would be nil for prayer,
given that some think they are but light air,
but if we are the recipient of a faithful word,
knowing that all prayers by God are heard,
the debt would bring us much to despair.

And despair would one day come our way,
except for what God through Jesus would say,
that we as servants are expected to do good,
place ourselves where our Christ once stood,
to others by our actions HIS gift to convey.

Not everyone by an advocates logic will convey,
thoughts or actions as valid reasons to repay,
God who is not seen but felt in footsteps taken,
and we who in an hour of need are not forsaken.
so please will you be an advocate and start today?
