Mourning / Grief

Death
by James H. Lee Jr.

Death is but the passageway
Into eternity,
The road that leads us homeward,
To join our family.

It's really just a step away,
A tiny space in time,
That everyone must pass through
To find a joy sublime.

So do not fear the passageway,
But put your trust in Him,
Who will be there with open arms
When here your eyes grow dim.

This poem is from my book of Heart Thoughts for Those Who Grieve and Mourn.  Here is the why behind it...

In the book, Life after Life, by Dr. Moody, the first one of several books which I have read, he tells of many people's experiences who have died and come back to share their experiences and what they encountered, and of the tunnel which they went through as their spirit left their body, and headed toward the "Light" which was at the end, where they discovered that it was the Savior who was waiting for them, and how He made them feel as He shared His love with them, and even reviewed their life together, where their whole life passed before them, and they were able to see it all. Yet, they were able to come back and share their experience with him, and how they felt, and how that experience changed their lives. I have never had such an experience, but when I read Return from Tomorrow by Dr. George Richie, I really became convinced of the truths of which they spoke, and especially his own account of his "near death" experience. After returning to his body, he struggled to become a Dr. and tried very hard to help people change their lives for the better. If you haven't read it, you might go to the library and get a copy and read it.
