Mourning / Grief

A Mother's Last Wish
by Mary Missildine

It was raining hard this morning
when I got up to get the kids off.
I could hardly see the road to drive.
It was poring down so hard at times.

As I was turnin right on Farmers Road
another car, turned upside down.
I stopped to maybe offer help
and that's when I found out.

Crumbled inside was a baby girl.
Some how she made it. God spared her life.
I checked her mama's pulse, and then,
she whispered soft and weak and barely alive.

Please take care of my little baby girl.
She has no one else
in this world.
All the loved ones in my life
passed on so long ago.

Please tell her mama loved her,
and I really didn't wanna go,
but Jesus has a better plan
and if she asks, :How will I know?"

Just tell her...
Jesus, gave your mama wings,
and she'll be with in your dreams.
Just like when you dream of Dad,
I'll be right there in your bed.

So please take care of
my little baby girl.
