Mourning / Grief

A Calm Relief
by James H. Lee Jr.

Sowing seeds of kindness
In a time of grief,
Brings a sweet refreshing,
And a calm relief

To a heart that's aching,
And yearning for a friend,
One who really truly cares,
On whom they do depend.

Draped in sorrow, one may be
Alone, though in a crowd,
Yet, if there's a friend nearby,
It lifts the dreary cloud

Of darkness hanging over them,
And in the light of day,
That friendship seems to cheer them on
Along their troubled way.

Though friends relieve no sorrow,
That their hearts must bear,
It helps to know they're always there
To show how much they care.

Oh let the love of heaven
Permeate your soul,
And radiate the love of Christ
To make another whole.

For sowing seeds of kindness,
In a time of grief,
Brings a sweet refreshing,
And a calm relief.
