Sometimes, Love Is Real
by Pearlie Duncan Walker

As I was thinking over the state we're in today, a teardrop fell...
Pondering the message I must send to let you know my love is well.
Sometimes, love is real, my dear. This, I happen to know is true
Because I know the feelings I have, inside my heart, are so real for you...

The kind of love that is so awesome that there's golden anniversaries,
Children's room, dirt on the rugs, toys on the floor, and nurseries...
Growing old, together; bonds forming in our hearts and growing
To great strength, and there's grit in our heart by knowing...

That, sometimes, love is real. Sometimes, it's everlasting, too.
And, in this instance, I know, if you didn't love me back, what would I do?
I will always be faithful and true, trying, always, to be full of zeal.
But, if my heart ever knew anything, it knows that love is real.

Trust me, my love. I will never let you down or leave you at all.
My heart will cling to your love, forever, as ivy climbing on a wall.
Let us store up new memories, the kind that never ever fades away...
But, go on, all our life, with the thought that love grows from day to day.

It does, you know. I have a friend who's been there almost to the end, now,
And the love was like ours; So strong in all things, They made it, somehow.
We will too. For, love is true. It's a gift from our good Lord, up above.
For, sometimes, love is real, darling. That is likened unto our love.
