Pictures

I can almost picture your face, but its fading away.
The feelings I still have for you are as fresh as yesterday's.
Years have passed since I decided not to stay.
And now I'm remembering you as I lie awake.

I am trying to put memories back together again.
So, that I can piece together your face.
Your eyes and lips are the starting point,
But it's your smile I'm trying to make

Something that I'll never forget is your gentle way.
And the way you made me feel when I made you laugh.
It was like I figured out a way to your soul and where's mine been?
And when I did this time after time you made me feel worthy of a girl like you again.

But now all I have are these fading memories.
Bent and worn away at the corners and dulled from overexposure.
Now, I need to find a new picture with a different face.
So, I can sleep again, and put my picture book away.
