Lost Love's Thorn
by Janice Gillespie

The difference between two as one falls out of love with their lover
Is the thorn which lies in one's side lodges in the heart of the other.
In one it is easily removed.
For the other, a feat yet to be proved.
How can the same one love repulse the fire,
Yet draw and quarter the other with desire?
Two souls at stake as one moves on.
The other lingers longing to belong.
