Love and Romance

If I Could
by Pearlie Duncan Walker

If I could, I'd swim the deepest ocean, to bring to you my love;
I'd climb the highest mountain, to meet you there above.
I'd try to bring unto you happiness; I'd wipe away the tears upon your cheek,
And If I could climb the highest mountain, I'd meet you on the highest peak.

If I could, I'd wrap my love around your heart, to make it warm again,
And I'd dive way to the ocean's bottom, to bring you up again.
Then I'd be so happy, if you'd give your love back to me, one day...
Then we could go back down the mountain, and in the valley stay.

If I could make for you a fortune, if that would be what you'd need...
Then I'd try to make you know somehow that it's me you truly need.
We might not have castle halls, neither gold nor silver in our hand,
But, we'd surely have each other, with loves tightest band

If I could just bestow upon you, Blessings, to make your heart glow,
You know I'd do it gladly, as we sit and listen, to the cool wind blow.
Even if you needed me by your side, as oft times you have before,
I'd be there in a moment, to open the closed and shuttered door.

If you can love me as I do you, then we can have an awesome life...
We could be so content with our love, and thrust away the strife.
We'd swim the deepest ocean, and climb the highest mountain above,
But mostly we'd comfort each other, with whispers of our love.
