That gentle, warm expression that I always get,
And when I twirl a sandy tuft of hair,
That is when I know my heart is there.
The glowing ember that crackles within,
Defending the heart once frail and thin,
And within your eyes when I often stare,
That is when I know my heart is there.
When we soon unwrap from our embrace,
But your touch still lingers on my face,
And when letting go is all I can bear,
That is when I know my heart is there.
My delight won't end if you are near,
Or if the faintest cry from you I hear,
And when the noises cease and the passion flares,
That is when I know my heart is there.
When you leave me missing you all to soon,
Within my chest beats a rhythmic tune,
And the thumping strikes me everywhere,
