Distance

my love is oh so far away
and yet when we are together
we withstand all kinds of weather.
Every time that you must leave
it becomes tougher to let you go
knowing that it will not be long
before we are back once again but
this does not cure the pain that I feel
when I will be alone without you
close to me holding you still.
I know that this is how it must be
this thought does not comfort me
miles separate my heart from my mind
miles away this is how it feels
miles away that do not heal.
Traveling those miles in my mind
those lonely hours I can’t find
when we see each other at last
