Where did all these colors come from?
Only last night, everything was gray.
That bright yellow ball up in the sky, is that the sun?

That melodious sound, could it be birds?
I thought that they had all gone away.
Dying the same death as all the poets words.

What's this I'm feeling in my heart and soul?
One was a wasteland of bitter dismay.
The other just recently a dead lump of coal.

Are my eyes seeing true? Is that grass really green?
