Love and Romance

Anniversary Poem
by Lorene Green

Many days have come an Gone
Forty years you have been my own
But my memories have not dimmed
of the day I first saw him.
working shirtless in the blazing sun
for him my heart did yearn.
Coal black hair, eyes of warmest brown
Connected with mine, an in then I drowned!
Our eyes locked, an so did our hearts
A drawing of souls, we could not part
we were one from that day on
Soul mates for life, an beyond
troubles came as the do in life
But what is love, without strife.
Through the years our love stood strong
and never another did I want for my own.
