How Was Your Day?
by Jef Peace

Do you mind if I ask how your day has been?
Is there anything you'd like to do over again?
Are you happy with the things you've said and done?
Did you feel warm and loved? Did you have some fun?
When you think of the day, does it make you smile?
Was there anything special that made it worthwhile?

I've not yet decided about my today,
but yesterday must have been okay.
I'm still alive and enjoying that fact;
can't think of a thing I need to take back.
There's no single moment I wish hadn't been,
nothing that should be done over again.
Or for that matter, done differently;
more often or more intermittently.
No major mistakes, everything was fine
on the day right before this one in time.

If your day was good, I'm sure mine was too,
'cuz there'll be no good reason for me to feel blue.
The sun is bright and the sky is quite clear.
My soul is at rest and there's nothing to fear.
All's well in my world as long as you are okay,
'cuz that will mean there's nothing wrong today.
