Life and Time

Onyechi Walks The Streets of Gold Before Us
by Sally Jasper

And for everything there's a time, a place, a season
sometimes there isn't, but sometimes there's a reason
and even as in the pain of death no-one understands
we can share the memories, laugh, cry, hug or hold hands.

There are faces we see rather rare or everyday
to these faces, if we may, can we just say
how we care, lets just share, how beautiful these faces are
for souls ever near could without warning be someday somewhat far.

Even as human beings we are subject to fragility
if at this moment we set aside negativity
and look in the eyes of even those at whom we once raved and ranted
and appreciate faces we often take for granted.

And if for this second our hearts are pure, space only for love
we can open wide the eyes of our hearts and look above,
in both their eyes and their smiles we can hear their thoughts
side by side, The Lord and Onyechi smiling down on us.
