The Old Fig
by Geoffrey Alan Best

The garden is full.
She snuffed out of what she know.
Looking around her eyes came to an old fig.
It most come out.
The fig was ugly and old.
I shall plant a new seed for a flower which will be young and pretty.
She pulled it out of the ground with all the force she had
and flung it into the compost heap.
She then lightly placed a seed into the ground and lightly covered it up.
The next day she was delighted to find a sprout.
The next week she was delighted to find a fig.
The next month she was delighted to find a newly grown rose.
She was so pleased it was so young and pretty.
Then she died.
She was pulled out of this world with all the force that God had and flung into Hell.
God then planted a seed into a young girl and lightly had it born into the world.
The next year God was so delighted to fine a gorgeous baby.
The next decade God was delighted to find a innocent little girl.
The Next decade God was so delighted to find a young women.
God was so pleased she was so young and pretty.
God then looked down upon the maiden in hell and said,
"You see how it is, the old for new and the new for newer"
The Maiden responded,
"But why did I deserve to go to hell?"
then God responded and said,
"Why did the old fig deserve to go into the compost heap?"
She responded by saying,
"But that old fig was so much lesser then I"
and God said,
"And how much lesser then you are to I"
