Life and Time

My Home
by
Anel Contreras

I am making this grave my home
The place where I slowly go
Go into a place where the shadows are all companions
Were the miseries are tossed into the wind,
Forgotten about and never brought up again
The Rain slowly thinning as I get closer to the dark
As the light slowly drifts away my life drifts its own way
I’ve left the life I’ve held
into the past
and turned it into vapor.
For once I seemingly smile.
This life was once mine
This life was once lived
This life once took part of misery.
But as for now forget it and turn away
It is no longer visible.
So drop the roses as well as the tears and make a prayer,
do what you came for
don’t stay any longer there is no point.
there is no way you can bring me from under.
