Hoods Heart
by
Vonell Sutton

One step (closer)
Till’ the pains (all over)
Till’ the rain (blows over)
Till’’ were able to lower our shoulders.
(Pain) will be there,
(That child will not care ) if the fathers not there,
The streets will be there,
Walk further and stair (in the air)
Wounderin’ (why) the close ones must die,
(In the eye)
Fait will decide (who lives or dies)
(In the Mind)
Your always right, even when your wrong (don’t get the song)
(Just seek the light)
And hold on (be strong) it’s gonna be alright.
(You can find relief in church) like a leaf in the dirt,
(First, you’ll fill out of place) but stay focused.
There’s flowers (on the other side of the wall)
Stand up, head up, (stand tall)
Drugs, thugs,
(Everybody don’t get relief from ya’ll (at all)
It’s all (in a days work)
Ears and eyes (opened) don’t cry (stay potent)
Don’t find pride in smokin’.
We slowly paint our own portions; love is all potions
(Keep ya mind and soul clear like the ocean)
