A leather ottoman and brocade wingback chair Would go quite well with that table there Perhaps a loveseat or couch or divan With lamps on both the right and left hand And a rug or a carpet . . . what should I do? End tables, coffee table, bookshelves too. I just can't face these decisions right now I'm frozen with fear and I don't know how To make the colors and fabrics blend Horror of horrors, when will this all end?
I need a new desk for my computer This one is oak and that's the wrong color For the sleek design this computer has This old desk's time has totally passed Black enamel with chrome and glass And a black chair with silver legs to match Then I'll need new carpet and drapes Which will compliment the computer's case I'm not sure where to find what I need I'll hire a designer to do it for me
Do you think our stereo system's outdated? This rug's a year old . . . does it look faded? Our twenty-seven inch screen is much too small. A chip in the counter, that won't do at all The room looks so barren, what have we missed? We're short three books from the bestsellers' list How about a painting? Renoir? Van Gogh? Perhaps the end table tops are too low Do you think our friends will approve of this lamp? It's all so old, it's time to revamp
Why are you worrying about your decor When there's so much you could share When's the last time you opened your door And took the time to look at what's there People dying for lack of food Ignorance caused by poor education Kids killing each other for a pair of shoes Do you begin to see now the state of our nation? Your fear of furniture becomes ludicrous When compared to all this misery We beg you to join the rest of us And reclaim your lost humanity |
