Life and Time

Happiness comes with a kiss from a breeze.
And loneliness falls in every drop of rain.
I ask you lord, in fact I'm begging you please
to find a way of ending my self created pain.

Every night I lie awake wondering, "Who am I?".
My sleep is forever haunted with lonely dreams.
Yet every morning before I wake, I promise to try
To understand simply, that nothing is what it seems.

Time is one of the only constants that comforts me.
Love is the only emotion I'll forever care to feel.
Although I'm not blind, sometimes I swear I cannot see
The difference between what is fake and what is real.

I seek simplistic answers in hopes of understanding
The true meaning behind my very existence.
I know that sometimes this life proves to be demanding
Hopeful that answers will come through endless persistence.
