I’ve traveled tragic paths and for years long,
With a heavy load of woes weighing strong,
Sandy paths snaked amid dunes; desert vast,
A hermit in wilds and the skies in murk cast.
A stranger I was; unknown paths I traveled,
All was dark around as my thoughts raveled
Digging memories; alas pleasures were few,
I sieved everything but hopes looked askew.
Luster hadst faded; darker night had turned,
I failed enliven a flicker, lamp I had burned,
Stars duped, moon eclipsed and sun had set,
Murk and bulging ocean I was to drown yet.
In my fearful aloofness I discovered closeness!
In bleeding wounds I discovered knife’s caress,
The cutting edge of compunction was so sweet,
I had slaughtered myself and was free of deceit.
An ocean had thronged within ah I was unaware,
Noise abated; I heard cute tunes; my close affair!
Someone had breathed into my ears and so close,
Rosy fragrance pervaded but I could see no rose!
The veil hadst unveiled itself and things changed,
Blossoms on the bloom and beautifully arranged!
Verdure gardens; streams meandering all the way
Down the fairy landscape where heads go astray!
But love abides, ears are deaf and the heart hears,
Pounding fast and loud but soul shivers and fears,
O what? Who’s there? How? Ah a sweet whisper,
Magnificence! A prize and air empty of whimper!
I kept mute and set my heart at those sweet tunes,
I sought after and had journeyed thru bleak dunes,
The murky sky had turned shining and bright blue,
Moon was full again and stars were twinkling thru.
My dear Lord was kind and had kneaded my heart,
And remolded it chaste but from temptations apart,
I forsake shade and woe, ’cause The Friend’s there,
He’s The Guide, The Comforter in the Divine flare! |
