It's the little things that matter along the road of life,
The way you treat your children,
Your husband or your wife.
The little things you do each day to show someone you care,
By opening a door for them,
Or love you freely share.
The world is full of people who need a helping hand,
A heart-hold or a hand-hold,
Which shows you understand.
And when you do provide it, it lifts your burden, too,
As what you give to others
Will all come back to you.
There are a lot more small things that we can do while here,
Like going to the temple,
Or spreading love and cheer,
Or doing our Home Teaching, with willing heart and soul,
Or helping someone else to reach
For their Celestial goal.
We can "overpay" our tithing, and fast offerings as well,
To help the poor and needy,
But don't you ever tell.
For what you do in secret to help a friend or foe,
Will automatically help yourself,
And help your spirit grow.
The Lord has given us a chance to do the little things
To see if we are worthy,
The day we get our "wings,"
To take on bigger projects, becoming more like He
Who is our Elder Brother,
Who died for you and me.
Whatever be your task in life, be it big or small,
Give it your best effort,
And you'll stand ten feet tall.
The little acts of kindness, and little things you do,
Will bless the lives of others,
And help you to be true. |
