What Is Life
by Ravi Rajan

I once saw an oily double edged knife,
reminding me of a quaint phenomena called life.

Life is like jam covered fingers,
you lick it off, the smell still lingers.

Life is like walking into a treacherous swamp,
you enter like a gentleman and come out like a tramp.

Life is like a colorful shoal of whales,
you never get to see the heads or the tails.

Life is like a discarded dirty linen waste,
you never know when it becomes the hottest fashion taste.

Life is like a bunch of rats in a freaking race,
you never know which one has got the winning ace.

Life is like trying to climb a greasy pole,
you never know how far you are from your goal.

Lastly, life is like those mysterious flying saucers we sometimes see,
you never know when you have to deal with nuts like ME.
