White Wine by Justen Brooks | The lights shone bright. And the flowers bloomed. They all sang and danced, Under the moon.
The masks they wore, Were covered in glitter. And the wine they drank Sparkled and shivered.
She stood in the shadows And prayed to die. For she waited to dance, And say good-bye.
As she watched her people mingle, A man fell to the ground. Everyone ran and shouted As they threw their wine down.
She looked at her glass, That the wine was in. And continued to drink, The poisoned gin.
They all yelled with chaos. As she stood in the dark. Until she dropped to her knees, And grabbed her heart.
She reached towards the sky Her turn was now done. It was time to die, And have some fun.
But as she died With a smile on her face. She hid a secret. That everyone could taste.
She laid her head down. And closed her eyes. And no one knew she Had poisoned the wine.
But all the people were dead And the moon turned to sun. And that is when... The party was finally done. | Justen Brooks Copyright 2005 Listed 03/28/2005 |
