The Darker Half Of Me
by Keisha Davis

She comes out at night
As I take a look in the mirror I see her
Staring back at me
It's the darker side of me waiting to be set free

The reflection is haunting
Against my own will I glare at her
It' s like she's holding me there
I stand frozen as if I'm in a trance by here icy stare

She vanishes when I turn on the lights
And I'm left alone to face myself
I'm stuck in my personal hell
Feeling empty and abandoned as if my soul is on sale

The darker side of me begs for attention
Attention that I don't want to give
The darker side of me that makes me lie and hurt
This darkness won't leave me alone

She reveals herself in my times of pain
I can feel her as she rakes her cold clammy hands down my back
I can hear her evil laugh
Her dark penetrating eyes gazing into my soul

Her smell
The smell of death and evil seeping into my nostrils
Making me drown in a sea of despair
Her face belongs to an Angel but her little black soul belongs to Satan

It's her face I see
The same face that mocks me in my sleep
The same face that laughs whenever I fall
The same hands that push me down when I try to stand

The darker half of me
She taunts in my dreams
She puts her hand over my mouth whenever I try to speak what's on my mind
She makes it seem like I'm the evil one

Her time will come
I'll conquer her evil powers with love
God is on my side and he has more power than she
And this darkness will falter in me
