Holidays and Seasons

Spring
by Bernard Howe

Springtime is a pretty time,
I think I like it the best.
Of all the lovely seasons,
it stands out above the rest.

Springtime gives a promise ,
of longer and warmer days.
The violets and the buttercups,
shine through a misty haze.

Woods awaken, birds return,
to the greening trees to nest.
Tulips, daisies, and daffodils,
come forth to show their best.

Fruit trees begin to blossom
and the gardens do the same.
All these simple things
help give spring its name.
