Holidays and Seasons

Christmas 2004
by Kenneth Robertson

The snow is fast falling in tiny flakes,
Patsy’s in the kitchen and slicing cakes.
We have been married for about a year
Comfortable and still, she bends my ear:

Christmas is coming; we can’t keep it back
The nights grow longer, it’s more time in The sack.
We don’t have much, but we’re a happy two,
We look high and low for something to do.

I’ll write a few poems till the skies turn blue
And the heavens are a much brighter hue.
Winter is pretty here, so white, and wet
So spring will bloom gorgeous is our best bet.

Our wish is that you are happy like us
With never a reason to make you cuss.
Merry Christmas to family and friends
If we’ve done you wrong let this make amends.
