Katrina
by
Dianna Wilder

No food,
no water;
no sanitation--
Katrina had struck!

Water rushes in;
the people now homeless,
wondering, waiting for "Hope."

Children horrified as they
search for parents,
someone to care for them!

Days later,
"Hope" finally arrives
in food, water, the necessities of life.

Life as they know it
now gone forever.
What lies ahead for these people?

The poorest of poor,
searching for "Hope."
Americans once again bind together.

As they open their hearts,
sending supplies, money
and prayers.
