A Child’s Cry
by
Eustace Bellille

Where are you going daddy?
I don’t want you to leave, I love you daddy
And say hello to mommy for me.
Upset with this complicated world for taking my family away from home
Eyelids not shut but ready to sleep
Hearing the news on television, sad to know if my family is missing in action.
For I am not ready for you to die
I am not ready for us to part
Come back home soon Mommy because I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye
Be careful Daddy because Mommy needs you as a guide
And come home soon so that I can stop my cry.
Heavenly Father, please bless my parents’ brave hearts,
Because I know that Mommy and Daddy are fighting for a better world for me
But still I am nervous and afraid
So come back home soon Mommy and Daddy to tuck me into sleep.

A dedication to all the soldiers at war!
