Little Winds
by
Sherry Asbury

Touch of feathers, wing-wind felt on cheek
Angel flying to seek the pure, innocent heart
Does such exist in a universe so filled with
Cruelty and willingness to defy decency
Where went goodness when it flew from
This world of madness and selfish desire
A few survive, a few flawless innocent souls
Who know only right and justice and mercy
Each must become a peaceful, fair heart
Flood the cosmos with shining love light
Caring hearts must send their thoughts out
Light the darkness with determination
Shining example be to fade the aura of evil
Peacemakers, soft-spoken voices that
Shout from every corner and every direction
Hope of survival lies in changing ways of man
Refusing hate and demanding every peace
Putting aside greed, giving of self
Making felt the glory of humane responsibility
Little winds that will blow good into the world.
