Purple Dreams, A Farewell
by Jamie Mallinson

The front gates before me,
as I stand in awe,
saying GOODBYE was the only flaw.

I will never again gaze upon the great tower,
the fountain court
and smell the sweet rain shower.

The once grand staircase,
now dilapidated and old,
boasts royalty dressed in jewels and gold.

As I behold the grounds of bowling green,
with its majestic views,
can only be seen.

Under purple skies,
she stands yet so tall,
with crumbled stone walls from many a fall.

In all her glory,
she's still my dream,
as if Camelot life was only a scheme.

To say FAREWELL,
my castle of dreams,
where fantasies entwined my mind, so it seems.
I will always remember these magical times
and yet relive with all its medieval crimes.

Today the crowd of visitors,
such a hassle...
as I turned
and said goodbye, Raglan Castle.
