Your Spirit Still May See
by James H. Lee Jr.

Although your mortal eyes are blind,
Your spirit still may see
Beyond this veil of sorrows, into eternity,
Where there is beauty all around,
And love, unfeigned, sincere,
Awaits your coming home again,
To Father who is dear.

He knows your trials and problems,
And obstacles you've faced,
And often walked beside you,
And your own soul He's graced,
Because He loves you very much,
And doesn't want you to see
The filth and sleaze and garbage
That's shown on the TV,

Or even in the movies,
Or on the video,
That others may be seeing,
Which Hollywood loves to show,
Because it kills the Spirit,
And pollutes the heart and mind,
And robs one of true happiness,
And makes the spirit blind.

Every single handicap
Which mankind faces here,
May be for his protection,
For all to God are dear,
And He knows what we have to face,
And have to overcome,
For all are His creation,
The deaf, the blind, the dumb,

The halt, the maimed, the leper,
The sin sick sinner, too,
And all are on a mission,
He's sent us to pursue,
To work out our salvation,
And gain experience here,
Becoming like a child of God,
Who to His heart is dear.

Satan is alive and well,
And tries to thwart God's cause,
By planting thoughts within man's heart
Which minimize God's laws,
But Jesus Christ is alive, too,
To gladden heart and soul,
And help us stretch beyond the mark
To our eternal goal,

So when this life is over,
And all is said and done,
We'll see and understand His ways,
And why God sent His Son
To help us gain salvation,
And exaltation, too,
And we will come to understand
His plan for me and you.

And come to know the reason
Why some were blinded here,
And some had other handicaps,
Yet all to God are dear,
For we're His sons and daughters,
Of royal lineage, too,
Heirs to life eternal,
Beyond our mortal view.

God bless us, each and every one,
And may we strive to be
Found worthy of His love and grace,
So that our eyes may see
Beyond the veil of sorrows,
The trials and problems, too,
And view a glorious dawning,
Where skies are always blue.

And may your spirit soar to heights
That others may not reach,
And view things others may not view,
For God has given each,
Some handicap to overcome,
Some trials and problems here,
To help prepare us for true joy
In heaven's atmosphere.
