When He Was A Babe
by
Pearlie Duncan Walker

In the manger - when He was a child
He was a babe of God and a virgin; mild
Born in a little cattle stable; a manger filled with straw
I know, even the little animals eyes; shone when they saw.

It was a Miracle they saw that night;
Bringing the wise men; was the star shinning bright
A little Manger; all filled with hay
God knew His Son would be born that way.

I imagine God reaching down to hug His Son
Thanking Him for the things for His people He will have done.
I Imagine God kissed His sweet little head
Maybe He patted His little feet in; His manger bed.

Thank you God for sending this Son
To take away our sins; with the love of this one
Thank Thee Lord Jesus; for our great joy divine,
That you came; to cover every sin of mine.

We love you and Praise your name even today
We know you will go on saving our souls all the way.
I pray all will accept and praise Thee aloud
So, soon you'll come in all Thy glory; wrapped in a cloud.
