The Real Charmer
by Riaz Raja

Lord! Adorn our house with thy graces!
The colour must run and flush our faces,
On our insipid faces smiles would riffle
As the sun glimmers over a curly ripple!

With hidden and graceful steps come in,
Divinity to glow our hearts from within,
Light up an orb aye in the dead of night.
And our lonely hearts fill with soft light.

No garden wherein Thou bloom naught,
Thou are the beauty, every eye’s caught,
Thou art fascination, Thou art the reality,
Thou art enthrallment, Thou art actuality.

Past perception and brains Thou art grand
The sun and moon mirror Thy pure brand,
Thou tether them and to their orbits brace,
The pulsars and comets in heavens apace!

Thou are venerated, in reverence profound,
If I hear Thy name I tremble at very sound,
Thy Name’s exalted and glorious and high!
Absolute Monarch! None dareth Thou defy.

The mighty years, which to us look vast;
Thou behold it a moment that’s just past,
Thou are Omnipotent, the exact Knower,
The Maker, The Creator and The Rower!

I’m a fallen falcon and want to fly away,
Thy love calls me, my flight I will assay,
O Giver of life award me prodding eyes,
Appraise the merger beyond azure skies.

The tide of love soars; its banks overflow,
Let off from shackles aye my eyes aglow!
I’ve cast away the crucial burden of earth,
While Royal festoons stay my only mirth!

O the Lord of Honour bequeath me light,
Bless grace to diffuse and my blind sight,
Honour to Thee, the soul rejoicing praise,
I play my lire’s strings; my heart’s ablaze.
