The Inner Man
by Von E. Weeks

In this big old world their so much extraneous noise,
There are also so many forms of distracting toys.
We each arrive in life with blank pages in our book,
Family, friends and school determine where we look.
Day after day, we form our inner desires bad or good,
Ether we break life’s eternal rules or live as we should.

We are all searching for a since of joyous pleasure,
So many seem to gather the wrong kind of treasure.
Not grasping we’re spending time in the wrong pursuit,
As we gather more “THINGS” to our worldly loot.
You see, things will never bring the serenity of a prayer,
They can’t replace the void of loved ones no longer their.

Each of us will choose weather to lift our heads high,
Searching for understanding through repetitive tries,
Will you give up after a few failed attempts or two,
Proclaiming a God not seen by man, cannot be true?
If so, you do allow the holly spirit to have a place inside,
You then ignore the inner spirit because of blinded pride?

Each person on this earth is a spirit child of GOD,
With a veil placed over our minds of primordial sod!
No longer remembering our Heavenly Father above,
We forget the indescribable joy at feeling his love.
No longer remembering that our mortal life is a test,
Designed buy our Father above so we can be our best.

Just as we must allow our children to choose the right,
God knew our development must be done out of his sight.
Agency to choose both wrong and right is a vital key,
If spirit children were to develop into all they could be.
God gave us Jesus Christ our Redeemer to guide the way,
He’s given us all the puzzle pieces, to return to him one day.

Our faith and prayers day-by-day open door-after-door,
We transform our life as we stock-up our spiritual store.
As we listen to our spirit inside, it’s easier to put trivia aside,
God’s commandments become much simpler to abide.
So my brothers lift your heads high, and talk to God today,
The deluge of noise will start to miraculously fade away.

The inner soul will commune with God time-after-time,
Until our heart, mind and soul are one in all things divine.
We’ll no longer desire to partake in things that debase,
In our lives, step-by-step, evil actions loose their place.
As the years pass by we’ll find weakness has fleeted away,
And the communion of spirit and body are here to stay.
