Questions
by Denny Lancaster

Lord you taught us to pray
but answers do not impart
changes in our lives each day
so dear Lord today, we'll start.

Little changes are a delight,
but the big ones still creep
into our conscious mind at night
and awakened all we do is weep.

Would you send a Cherub now,
with celestial wings to sway
the big sins, we will then avow
and listen to what you say.

Without a Cherub all is for naught,
for our promise to you like birds,
fly's: We all are and nothing's ought,
without a change of heart just words.

Since you did not send a Cherub today,
would you please just change our heart,
because we want to daily hear you say,
your servant has made a very good start.

Would you also send us an angelic sign
one that is faithful, calm and good,
and daily of you to us will remind,
where we once were and where we stood.

Lord, thanks for listening to us again,
for us you always have the time, we think
and this is how our daily lives can begin
when you and we are together and in sync.
