Peace I Give Unto You
by James H. Lee Jr.

Peace I give unto you,
Just the way I said,
Not as the world giveth,
For I profusely bled,

And took your sins upon me,
That you might find real peace,
Surpassing understanding,
That will, through me, increase.

I love you, and I want you
To be eternal heirs
To Father's light and glory
Beyond the golden stairs.

Although the heavy burden
Weighed my spirit down,
I gave you opportunity
To win the victor's crown.

Go forth in strength and conquer,
Be all that you can be,
Remembering I took your sins
And burdens upon me.

Yes, peace I give unto you
As only I can give,
Because I died upon the cross,
That you, my friend, might live.
