If You Listen
by Sonia Rogers

If you listen,
you can almost hear Gabriel's horn,
Surely, this was the day
when Love was born;
When the world would know peace,
and hope would be offered
to even the least.

If you listen,
you can almost hear the angels sing,
"Hallelujah, praise be to God,
for this is His Son, and forever our King."
"All men shall know His Name,
and those who will seek Him and follow,
an heir of the King will be their claim."

If you listen,
you can almost hear the whisper of His mother's voice,
"My sweet child, before too long
I'll not have a choice."
"Soon, I must let you go to complete His will,
so your Father's promise
will be fulfilled."

This promise of hope
and peace is for all,
if we will only listen
to His call;
Surely, Love was born on this day,
and for this gift of your Son, Lord,
How can we ever repay?
If you listen,
you can hear His heart,
"Your surrendered life
would make a wonderful start."
