I Overcame
by Sally Jasper

Stray tear drops running down my face
more to come at a faster pace
yet still simultaneous strange smile
as though in life's most perfect bliss

Sad once blue dark grey sky
Sat miserable, yet hopeful there up high
Eventually, there's a big, bright rainbow
'cos The Lord ordained it so

Wondering, staring, bravely, tear-stained
hopefully, helplessly feeling so strained
'Sweet child, why do you cry?'
Smiling at The Lord, but eyes don't lie

I showed Him my heart, so worn, so broken
'You'll heal soon', The Lord has spoken
Cherishing The Lord, smiling face yet still wetter
'shh' He said, 'it only gets worse to get even better'

Blue rainbow streaked sky smiled on me
There's more to come, just wait and see
I trusted, I believed, a test I passed
for The Lords words came to pass.
