He Set My Feet Upon A Rock
by
Pearlie Duncan Walker

I waited patiently unto the Lord, He inclined to hear my cry.
He will bring me out of the horrible pit, the miry clay by and by.
He will firmly, set my feet upon a rock and establish my going.
He hath put a new song in my mouth, as the kine, my heart is lowing.
The new song and Praise, through Psalms and Prayer, many shalt see.
Blessed is the one who maketh the Lord his trust, not the proud to be.
Have not honor for the proud, nor such that turn aside for every lie,
But I shall put my trust in He, who hath forever, by me, stood by.
He is as the highest mountain, over the valley, which I can scale.
He is the cool drink of water, from the cool, cool well.
Many, oh God, are Thy mighty works, that Thou hath truly done.
Make me as you would have me Lord, make me with Thee as one.
As with thoughts that cannot reckoned with unto Thee.
Show me oh God, how to more closely watch you and see.
How, you, Father, gave beloved Son as ransom, purchased my sin,
That in the great day of reckoning, I could be with Thee again.
As before I was in my mothers womb, Thou set my feet upon Thy path,
Before evils compassed me about, thou sent upon mine enemies, wrath.
You reeled me in Oh God, as doth a ship that cometh to the dock.
You called and as I cometh, Thy Holiness set my feet upon a rock.
