Goblin by Layla Jade | The first time I saw you, it was online. The perfect companion I'd been trying to find. I gazed at your photo on the dog rescue site, You sat there so tiny, your eyes were so bright.
So I called up about you, and they said you were gone. I had to move on, It was hard to be strong.
Someone else had now taken you to a brand new home, This is what I discovered when I picked up the phone So I continued my search, for a dog of my own not somebody else's that I was watching on loan.
A couple of weeks passed and to the shelter I came I walked round the cages, which dog would I claim? All these great dogs, it seemed so in-humane. Some barking, some playing, some sat there in shame.
I was about to 'turn tail', forehead crinkled in frown, When I saw you in the corner, small, cute, and brown. I rushed up to the desk, filled the paperwork in, And then came back to see you, amidst racket and din.
As I looked at you, sat there in your metal cage, you then took to the stage. You pulled the same pose from the pic, cute and keen, and I suddenly realized, it was you I had seen!
I could barely believe my eyes, It was such a surprise that I wanted to cry. See I had no idea, when I signed on the line, that I had adopted the dog, of my original find!
It was then that I knew that fate meant it to be, that the best of friends would be you, and be me. Turns out you'd been rescued, then sent back from your home. Their loss was my bone! | Layla Jade Copyright © 2005 Listed 2/02/2006 |
