Animal and Nature

Early Mornings
by Bernard Howe

Early one clear April morn,
as I walked out on the lawn.
To take in all the beauty,
of the first light of the dawn.

The golden rays from the sun,
seem to shine down all around.
This helps warm my inner soul,
in a way that seems profound.

The birds begin their serenade,
from way high up in the trees.
Their melody of tiny pitches,
seem to float upon the breeze.

The petals begin to open up,
as the sun begins to warm.
Color explodes from all over,
as flowers begin to transform.

The back yard seems to come alive
every morning about this time.
The scent of the lovely flowers
and the herbs with all the thyme.

Everyday can seem so special,
with memories in which I own.
I feel like a king out here,
just sitting upon my throne.
