Banishment

Each fitfull night I lie awake,
upon a bed of stone.
Captured in a tortured mind,
and a heart without a home.

The flame within my soul grows dim,
as on this bed of tears I lie
But judgement knows,
my heartless foes,
they'll mourn someday as I

As battles raged ,
on life's cruel stage,
and darkness hid my sun.
I knew their fate,
lay at hell's gate,
for the victory they had won.

Another place, another time,
to triumph is the pledge of men.
But triumphs lost,
have a bitter cost,
when life is at its end.

It's common place
for men to prize
the riches of the earth.
But for treasures all,
though large or small,
won't gain a cosmic berth.

Do not place all earthly trust
in that which can be bought.
Or put blind faith and foolish hope
in what is simply taught.

Search and find the meaning
of the words the prophets tell.
For wrongs when done,
may at last become,
A living, burning, hell.
