A PLACE AMONG THE STARS
Claude Peter Dhuet

There is a place among the stars-
Where dreamers dare to go-
To go there you must put aside-
Most realities that you know.

This is a place where only those-
Who want to transcend the bounds-
Of all those cares and worries-
On earth that seems to abound.

For cares and worries can bind us-
And make prisoners of us all-
Until our avenues of escape-
Seem so narrow and so small.

So don’t close up those avenues-
There is always hope for all-
Put away those worries and those cares-
And dare to live among the stars.

After listening to a Barbra Streisand CD (Higher Ground) I was in this dreamy mood and it inspired me to write this poem. My thanks to her.
