SPRING - by Claude Peter Dhuet

Why are there so many bugs-
That fly up in the air-
Most are really harmless-
Of these I don’t take care.

But there are those that buzz around-
My face and love to play-
Their pesky games of hide and seek-
Near my ears and peck away.

Why should they care if I sit there-
And enjoy this lovely view-
Flowers blooming, birds a-zooming-
The smell of spring that’s in the air.

Perhaps its to remind me-
That nature is not always fair-
For every drop of rain that fall-
There is a drought somewhere.

So I will sit here and enjoy the view-
And swat them as they play-
Their pesky game of hide and seek-
They’ll not scare me away.
